A Modest Proposal on the Sharing of Wealth

When the Customers of our Businesses do not possess sufficient Money to allow them to purchase the Products and Services supplied, it must follow that the very Future of those Businesses is in Peril. Yet our largest Busineses, and Employers in the Public Sector, and indeed our System of Relief for the Poor, all continue to reduce the Money available to those they pay – to so great an Extent that the Customers on which our System of Capitalism depends are in Danger of Extinction.  This is a veritable Tragedy of the Commons. The Consumers on which our System depends are in Peril from the System itself!

I have a modest Proposal. Let those in Positions of Power in the World of Business ensure that their Employees have a sufficient Share in the Profits of the Business, that they receive a Living Wage. Let those in Government ensure that the Poor do not become destitute through ever increasing Cuts, but have the Ability to participate in the Economy and have a decent Life. Let all take a more enlightened and sustainable View of Society, that Society might not be driven to Collapse. And let us pay Heed to the Commandments of Our Lord to show such Love to our Neighbour as we show to Ourselves.
